Hi All , Does anyone know what does actually precancerous mean please. ShazS

    Changes seen in cells  that will possibly lead to cancer developing.

    Thanks Primek I have had lumpectomy on left breast oncol found a mass in the right breast had MRI and biopsy and Drs say it's precancerous I and stressing as to me it's either cancer or not. I am going to have surgery to remove the lump and they say once removed sent away for further testing will know exactly what it is. Does that sound right?

    Yes...best removed and thoroughly checked under microscope.

    Pap smears look for pre cancerous changes so treatment happens before cancer develops.
