I wonder how that will apply since most power bills are in the husbands name. Will it carry to other residents in the same building?

You mean your husband did all the running around about opening/ closing accounts and moving them?? Well done!! Power bills in this household (ditto telephone, apart from his mobile) have been in my name for yonks.

Hi all, I have been a part of this scheme for several years now, even though the power account is in my partners name, I am the person who has the health problems, the amount is about$51.00 per quarter and is put into my account, however at this point in time I have a very sneaky feeling the state government of south australia has VERY quietly disposed of this scheme,I also receive a paper version in the post and so far in the last 6 months have received only 1, so on monday will be ringing the helpline to see whats going on, I had to see my specialist and he had to fill out a form and I just posted in, you had to have one of the health issues listed on the paperwork to even apply, so will let you know if the scheme is still operating on monday,

@romla, Hi, I was not sure where to put this, its regarding the south australian governments medical heating and cooling concession, I rang them this morning as I had not received my letter advising the money had been put in my bank account - just a cost cutting measure, the $54 is put into my account every three months, I know that it is not a lot considering the power prices here in south australia, but every little helps, especially as I do suffer with the heat and the xeloda oral chemo that I am on, our airconditioners are running almost 24/7 when the temp goes over 30 as I cannot tolerate the heat at all, so if anyone from sa sees this just go to the concessions sa website -heating and cooling, and download the paperwork for your gp.

@romla - Do you know if you have to be clinically diagnosed with lymphodaema or just at risk?

Found the page @Romla - IIwas being lazy!  Looks like you have to be diagnosed with significant effects to qualify. Hopefully, I won't ever qualify but good to know in case.

The grading suggests a clinical diagnosis may be necessary - worth a shot if you’d like to give it a go
