New to Gold Coast
Hi Ladies
I have just moved to the Gold Coast with my family from Sydney. Can any of you recommend a good "fun" support group in the area where I might meet some new friends? I was diagnosed last June and have finished all treatment whoo hoo and want to get out there and live my new life. Thanks so much

Hi Sam, I know someone that is part of a support group (something I have been meaning to join) and have sent them an email asking for contact details and I will let you know.
I hope you are enjoying the Gold Coast. Have you found an understanding GP and oncologist yet?
What part of the Coast are you at, north or south?
Chat soon.

Hi Julie
I emailed "sassy survivors" today do you know about them? I got a nice response so may check them out.
Thanks I will look forward to hearing what you find out.
We are renting on Sanctuary Cove for a few weeks till we find a long term rental.
My surgeon is Dr Danny De Viana and my oncologist Dr Catherine Shannon. Have you heard of them? Found a lovely GP Dr Olga Missiouris at Hope Island.
Thanks so much

Hi Sam,
Happy to hear you have found a Gold Coast medical team. I have heard of the Sassy Survivors. My surgeon passed on their details to me. However, it's my understanding you have to be under 45. I'm 48, so I think I'm too old to join them. Please let me know how you go with the Sassy Survivors. I ive at Pacific Pines, about 15 minutes away from where you are. I work full time, but I'm happy to catch up if you wish. I find that all though I work full time I have way too much free time on my hands.
Cheers

Hi Julie
Yes i'd heard its for under 45's. Im 45 so will have to be quick ha ha. I'm sure they are not too ridged on their rules. They are sending me details of their next meeting. They meet the first friday of each month for "a few drinks and lots of laughs" Thanks for the offer of a catch up maybe we could check it out together. I could let you know the details when I get them if you like? Good on you back at work full time. How are you feeling? I still like a nanna nap in the afternoon! Ive got too much free time too at the mo ha ha. Have you got children? Thanks for the chat. Sam.

Hi Sam,
How did you go with finding a support group? Did you connect in with one?
If you haven't as yet - you can do a search for support groups around your area here: http://www.bcna.org.au/membergroup/search
Let us know how you go.
Cheers
Daina
