I saw a segment on one of those Current Affair programs about sending bras overseas to contries where women can't afford to buy mastectomy bras.

Does anyone know where I can send some to the girls who really need them?

I have a few which I don't wear anymore and would like to donate them.

Can anyone help???

A couple of years I was able to give my unwanted bras to Breastscreen who were organising them for Papua New Guinea ladies.  I was astounded to find out that wearing a bra is a status symbol in this country.  If the ladies/girls wear a bra it lessons their risk of rape.  It might be worth asking your local Breastscreen.  Hope you have some luck.  I also know that there was a discussion on this site re unwanted prosthesis.  It might be worth doing a search.  Good luck XLeonie

    Hi Louise,

I also saw the program and have found a link to the 'Project Uplift" website - www.upliftbras.org

It seems they run through Rotary Australia and collect used bras across the country (particularly sports bras, larger sizes, mastectomy incl. swimwear) to send to disadvantage women in pacific countries such as Fiji, Vanuatu and Tonga.
