Advance notice - BCNA Queensland Conference 12 & 13 October 2019
Queensland Conference, RACV Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast
Hello everyone,
Following on from the Victorian Conference that was held alongside the Field of Women last year, in Melbourne, BCNA are now planning a series of conferences around Australia and as you know the next free conference will be held in Adelaide on the 27 & 28 July.
BCNA will then be coming to Queensland on the weekend of 12 and 13 October 2019. We are planning to run a series of workshops over the weekend and a special event on Saturday evening. At BCNA we strive to bring you information that is up to date and relevant. Therefore, we would love to hear from you to understand what is important so that we can deliver a program that is packed with the information and supports your needs.
These conferences are free to attend and you will need to register. If you are planning to travel interstate to attend a conference, you will need to organise your own travel and accommodation.
Planning is currently underway for conferences to be held in Sydney, Northern Territory and Perth next year and we will keep you updated regarding these events.

Any chance of coming to Cairns?!0

Hello @lgray3911 I have checked with my colleague and we are not going to Cairns this year.2

Hi @Giovanna_BCNA
can you please post the Brisbane conference on here so we can register. Thanx. 🤞🏼🧚🏻♀️💖0 -
Hello @sandramj
The registration link is not available as yet, will definitely post as soon as its available.3 -
Ok. Thank you.0
-
Will there be a separate MBC conference like Melbourne?

hello @Anne94 yes there will be, it will be similar format to Adelaide conference.2

Sounds wonderful. Some information on breast reconstruction would be great1
-
I have recently emailed BCNA suggesting a podcast with Denise Stewart, Occupational Therapist, specialising in rehabilitation after breast cancer and Oedema control in Brisbane. She has helped me enormously after my mastectomy and I think she would be a perfect presenter at your Qld conference, if you are interested I will send you her contact details.3

Could "You look so well, when do you finish your treatment?" be discussed? It is always very difficult as a mets patient to get people, in general, to realise that yes, we are still undergoing treatment. As a cancer patient, we have low immunity.1

@Giovanna_BCNA hey there Giovanna. Where can I find the details for this and the event for the Saturday night ? Margie 😊0

cheers Giovanna0 -
@Giovanna_BCNA. Thanks for that. I thought it was in Brisbane so I doubt I’ll be able to attend but I hope it’s an awesome weekend for everyone 😊2

Hi Giovanna, can I ask if this conference is just for Queenslanders or can any of us go? Do we pay for our own accommodation at the resort or is it provided(as in the past)? I presume we pay our own transport to get there .I followed the links and there’s no info regarding costs. Thanks,Tonya0

Hi @TonyaM the conference is
open to everyone, not just people in Queensland. The conference is a free event
so there is no cost to attend, but unfortunately we are unable to provide any
travel or accommodation assistance/allowance for this event. Hope this helps and feel free to contact me directly if you need any more info regarding the conference.0
