What a week it has been.

Conversations have been flowing on the Online Network this week with over 278 comments and 44 new blog posts. A big wave to our 29 new members, welcome to the Online Network.

It has been a great week for BCNA.  Tuesday saw the Health Minister launch our Secondary Breast Cancer Survey Report in Canberra.  Our Secondary Breast Cancer Telephone support trial program was announced & we hosted our very own Mini Field at the Camberwell Civic Centre in Melbourne.  I have taken some pictures of this special day for you all to see.

Thank you TraceyB for your latest blog - This weeks Inspiration. Your post's really brighten up our day.  We have had some wonderful insights into Secondary Breast Cancer and I wanted to highlight this blog from Lynne Brooks who posted for the first time - Secondary bc - new journey. Thank you for sharing Lynne.

    Good news. BCNA is considering placing a blue dot on their ribbon.

    This story is featured on this week's Men's Health page of the Australian Financial Review HERE.

    By making men and their health practitioners aware to be on the lookout for signs of the disease, men will be treated in a timely manner and have their survival chances improved.

    Thanks so much for your comment and for sharing this article with the network.

    Although this is a really worthwhile article highlighting the importance of acknowledging men diagnosed with breast cancer, the article is in fact referring to National Breast Cancer Foundation (who are represented by the pink ribbon) changing their logo not BCNA. However, as the article discusses toward the end, here at BCNA we absolutely agree that men need to be acknowledged and supported, and are working to ensure their needs are also met.

    Thanks for the reply Anne-Marie, and sorry for mixing up the groups.

    A fellow male BC patient is making a submission to BCNA requesting that you consider following NCBF's example. The BCNA site really is not very conducive to male participation, especially with the default avatar defaulting to a female silhouette.
