Hi ladies I know this is broken record stuff but I have to agree with the team that the new website is terrible. I can't find my way around at all.. It's hard work and it's disjointed. I'm not sure what you are working on with regards to fixing this but if it's just email notifications I think you are way off the mark. The issue is the layout and lack of a proper home page that clearly takes you to the right place.i would not want more email notifications leading me back to a bad site. They may take you directly to a relevant post but I can't find the regular information that I used to like to go back and read. You're dealing with people who are stressed out anyway so navigating this is terrible and I was such a huge advocate of the site prior to this. I'm not against change but I really feel you have missed the mark here and need to look at it from a different angle. I'm sure you are doing what you can to alleviate individual questions but I dare say you have lost a large % of regular contibutors, they wil look for easier ways to communicate and that's a real shame for the whole community and the cause. I'm sure this has been an expensive excercise and you're trying to get it right but sometimes you just can't fix it. Hope you will see this as constructive even though it's a negative post.. A wise business mentor of mine once said you can recover from a bad decision but you can't recover from indecision. Time to go back (format/layout wise) in my view. Hi Lisa I fully agree with what you have said !! BCNA are trying to fix it but their original consumer group obviously did not know how to explain what was important to their members or their techs had no idea how to prepare what was required. I have struggled with the system but some things are re-appearing slowly. THE MAIN THING IS THAT THE SYSTEM CANNOT WORK IF YOU USE THE GOOD OLD INTERNET EXPLORER. Try using Google Chrome in the meantime. BCNA - get onto this issue pronto !!!! THE SECOND THING IS RE-INSTATING THE 'LIVE FEEDS' (please) which allows interested ladies to get in on older conversations which interest them The next thing is the wide white spaces - crap - they have to work on it ! To newly diagnosed ladies - please persevere as this IS A GREAT WEBSITE - and you will make a heap of friends with ladies who are/have been going through the same as you. They are willing and able to help you through a difficult time in your life. Lisa, if you have problems, please call the BCNA office on 1800 500 258 and speak with the ladies who may be able to assist you through the problem. Keep in touch Summer :-)

Hi Lisa Really well said. I could not agree more! There is just too much that is wrong and the fixes are taking too long. When you are going through a diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer you need to have good support NOW. You cannot put off your needs while IT people take months (it has been months now) to get a support network up and running again. It is frustrating and so disappointing for those women who need support and for those who have tried so hard to be there for others. Comments from BCNA do not acknowledge this and show understanding of what the problem is. Summer is right. This network is great and if we can just get it back to being user friendly then we can get back to giving each other the type of support you cannot get anywhere else. Deanne xxx

I'm so pleased to hear that you are trying to resolve these issues. I thought it was just me being a newbie to the site as I've been finding it so hard navigating around the place too. Perhaps they could look at putting some "screen shots" into the help section while they fix it as I am finding this site very frustrating to say the least. Fingers crossed it can be rectified soon.

This is so well written,and is EVERYTHING that I have been TRYING to convey for weeks!! The point about having a home page where you can see everything that you need on it,and you only have to touch a heading and it takes you straight there! This is the main thing that has everyone so confused,I feel.Crikey,what is so hard about that?I am actually sick of waiting for things to be fixed.BCNA is a great organisation,but surely our thoughts should be considered,after all,if it weren't for all of us,it wouldn't even exist!!!!!

I wasn't going to complain but since so many others have I will add my voice.. I hate this new format too and find it difficult to use. It was so much better before the big change.

Hi ladies

Interesting to read all the comments about the new website. I only use my iPad to access the site I have not used it on my computer. I only joined the site late last year and had just got used to navigating my way around before it changed. I work in IT and fully understand everyone's frustration to changes but from the technical side it is also a massive job to make sure all the data is transferred over and in the correct places, that being said I think communication or lack of has been the worst problem. I personally don't like the groups and members list on the right hand side of the page taking up space. ( could be just a link) I like the My Feeds section so I can monitor what's going on in groups I'm a member of but I would prefer more posts to a page this is where it becomes clunky. I'm not sure about the "live feeds" people are talking about, I can't really remember using that as I wasn't on the old site for long. Is that something to do with people posting who are not in any particular group?? The whole site has too much white space, it might look pretty but it's not really practical when your wanting to have a quick look to see what's happening. The messages side of things is very clunky too. I would like to see many more messages to a screen so I can browse quickly. I have not been able to find a way to delete messages after I have read them anyone know how? Maybe they could come up with a user guide?? Or at least a hints and tips page??

I have joined the breast reconstruction Facebook page and there is quite a lot of activity going on there and virtually nothing on here. I would love to do a photo story of my journey but I have no confidence in Facebook being as secure as posting on this website.

It makes me sad that this invaluable service may be under utilized because of lack of communication and support. I personally received fantastic support from the ladies on here at a very difficult time in my life.

My nurse (the wonderful one) printed out a fact sheet for me and had it waiting for me at radiotherapy desk today.

Let's hope the site improves soon.

You would not find a more empathetic group than the women on this website. Personally, I have had so much support & empathy given to me during the stressful time of a second diagnosis. Now, it is almost impossible for me to read posts let alone send emails from my IPad. It is possible to be both empathetic and frustrated at the same time. Everyone has the right to have their frustrations heard and responded to. It is the newly diagnosed who I feel most for, particularly those who may not be all that computer savvy.

What saddens me is that it appears that this has now become some sort of taking sides exercise. We all (well most of us) try to give support on here in any way we can. Some do it through private groups with specific focuses and that's great but those with a more general outlook deserve support too. For some reason those in the general area feel we have been left out of the loop. I will say it again. The problem is that people feel abandoned because of a lack of communication. We have been struggling along trying to remain positive but it is just too hard to keep doing this by yourself.

I have tried so hard to keep trying to stay on-line because I (like a lot of people on here) thought the network offered so much to so many. But this is it I cannot take the ganging up behavior of one group against others. I will find other ways to feel positive and help others. This just makes me so sad. This network is supposed to be for anyone diagnosed with BC to receive support and understanding.

I'll tell you what I find disappointing....the terrible nature of some these comments. You all understand what this site is about & why it was started right?

Lets put our empathy boots on....

Do you think BCNA have gone out of their way to stress us out? To make things hard? To make us search a little harder? Do you all think you would like to cop this abuse while trying to make a great resource more streamline? I doubt it.

I was happy to read Daina's post in the other thread that the live feed function is a priority & hopefully it will be reinstated this week. I think having this function working will help to cement those easy connections we had previously as I know it was the first thing I used to look at! Cheers, Jane

My feed only stores posts from groups or members you are connected with. At the moment there is no easy way to check comments on a post you are involved with if it is not from a group or member you are connected with. As a regular supporter of anyone who I think I can help this is a problem.

I can't even reply to my own messages. I'm over it. I have no other support and this site and these women were really helping. Damn you bcna for ruining that. And for what??? Who asked you to change it. Just ditch the new site and sack the it people. I'm still waiting for jess to get back to me as she promised. SO DISAPPOINTING, FRUSTRATING AND SUPER UPSETTING. Why do you not get this Daina & co.????????
