Re: Kisqali
Hi @Glynnis. I live in a little town in Northern NSW and have no trouble at all getting Kisqali. I also use the medadvisor app and order the week before I need it, just to be certain - it usually only takes a couple of days to arrive. We do have a super friendly, efficient pharmacy. Nothing is too big an ask, so I’m lucky. Good luck. I hope Kisqali is as good for you as it is for me. I was on chemo for 18 months after I was diagnosed with Mets I was pretty wasted by the end of it all. Had a month off and started Kisqali. My quality of life soon began to improve. It is so good not having to go to chemo every week - a 180km return trip.Re: Creative Corner!
Hi @Blossom1961. Go gal. Have fun playing I like playing with ink and water colour; and ink with colour pencil. Can get some interesting effects. I was given some pastels and pastel paper for my birthday - yet to play with those. I’ll get some tips from my partners who also used pastels & charcoal. Isn’t if fun. Today I’m embossing what will become a large leather satchel.26Views0likes0CommentsRe: Creative Corner!
Well done @Blossom1961. It’s a restful painting and your colour choices are fab. I did a water colour class a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it. The class opened up my creative juices. There is something magical about working with water colours. After you’ve played around a bit, get yourself some quality water colours. I’m lucky to have access to my partner’s paints. The colours are rich and simply lovely to play with. So treat yourself :)25Views0likes0CommentsRe: Creative Corner!
@kmakm & @arpie thank you for your supportive feedback. I am enjoying being back in the workshop & staying focused. I imagine we are all in the same boat - being creative helps us smile, even on days we feel a bit ordinary and helps us along our healing path. I enjoy seeing what you are all up to and feel inspired by your creativity. I love poetry and especially enjoy the poems shared here as they reflect my reality, so often in a beautiful way. I must confess to shedding more than a tear or two. Thank you all.6Views0likes0CommentsRe: Creative Corner!
Hi @kmakm. Sorry for tardy response. I really must log on more often. The art Indulgence Day looks a lot of fun. My sister, who also is a Breast cancer survivor, lives in Melbourne. I’ll tell her about this. She is very social and creative so I’m sure would have a ball I’ve made 7 bags - they are awaiting my partners contribution, then I can stitch the front panel on. She is finishing off a commission, so I’ll have to wait a few more days. The first island is looking amazing. Today I’m embossing the 8th bag which will be a tote. I’ll post a few photos of the unfinished bags. I’m thrilled because I’m able to work/play for hours in the workshop I’m having a ball.5Views0likes0CommentsRe: Medicinal Cannabis Oil & reduction of pain, improvement in well being
I have continued experimenting with cbd paste and medical cannabis for pain control. I’ve changed my dosage and mix of medicines. I took only cbd paste and a full spectrum, raw / unactivated oil infusion for 5 days. I wanted to ensure all the THC was out of my system. Over the days I experienced ever increasing pain that I was able to manage with CBD but I needed to take more than usual. After 5 days I slowly added in medical cannabis oil that contained THC It seems that for me, taking medical cannabis containing THC along with a little activated CBD paste at night, then taking CBDa paste (raw or unactivated CBD) at least three times during the day, works best. On days my pain is bad, I take an extra dose or two of CBDa paste and /or 5 - 10 drops of raw full spectrum infused oil. My my pain gets pretty bad as I have Mets in my bones and a rather well broken pelvis - broken in two places and the bit of bone that should be joining the breaks is floating free and likes to stab me from time to time. Not a lot of fun. Apparently nothing can be done, so I’ll just have to rely on magic I guess. I don’t suppose anyone has a magic wand? In the meantime, I am able to manage my pain and keep a clear head so I can read and be creative. One of the things I like about using this method of pain management is that I can very easily adjust how much or little I take on a given day. AND I can keep a clear head5Views0likes0CommentsRe: Medicinal Cannabis Oil & reduction of pain, improvement in well being
Thank you @arpie & @Brenda5 for the links. The video of the woman with Parkinson’s disease bought tears to my eyes. How cruel that all sufferers don’t have the opportunity to try medical cannabis. Imagine how life changing it must be for her! I shall keep my eye out for Medifarms products. The product I was prescribed isn’t Australian grown or made. I’d certainly prefer to support our local burgeoning cannabis industry8Views1like0Comments
