Re: ⚠️ Recent badge email notification error
Hi, I actually thought it was a spam email lol, had to google what BCNA was, as it has been that long since I have been in here, I forgot (still have Chemo brain me thinks) all about what it was, I am at present recovering from a minor op last week and have spent the whole day so far looking and reading stories etc. Will attempt to come on a bit more often now, if my brain decided to remember lol. Hope everyone's journey is going well.78Views0likes1CommentBroken Toe
Hi Everyone, been a while since I have been on here....been doing really well, I have only 3 Paclitaxil left to go...anyway the Question is last night I kicked something and i heard a crack and I figure I have broken my little toe and possibly the one next to it, should i go have it seen too, or will it be ok... I figure it will take longer to heal as i have a blister on another toe that has taken since the 12th October to heal properly, and it still isnt 100% healed....any advice would be appreciated.... Thank you in Advance.... Cheers Schwen (Wendy)91Views0likes2CommentsRe: Starting Paclitaxel...
Hi @Elfie thanks for the tips had my first dose at 11.30am this morning (Perth time), and feel ok so fingers crossed.... Louise J said: Know how you feel! I’m in the same position as you right now and feel horrible after 4 rounds of E/C with extreme fatigue and nausea. I’m also concerned about Taxil. Thanks for starting this thread. All the best with your treatment and I hope it goes well without the side effects Hi @Louise J I was really lucky with my E/C mostly got the bad Fatigue but it never hit me until the afternoon of the third day after chemo, also suffered very mild nausea the night of the chemo, of course hair lose, which is still falling out in different parts of my body, but OMFG constipation that was the biggest problem of all, I have literally lived on Coloxil with Senna....anyway this was the side effects that i had for the first 3 rounds anyway....after my last one I never got nausea, the fatigue lasted 2 days not for 3 or 4 day, I only took my Coloxil for 2 weeks this last week ive been fine like as if i never had chemo...which was a blessing in its self... So today was the first Taxol, so far so good, only thing i am finding is that I actually dont feel hungry but my stomach is telling me different if that makes sense.... Might must make some toast or something....but as the weeks go on, I will keep in touch, I do home you do the same..... And all the best for your upcoming treatment also.... Cheers Wendy... :)9Views1like0CommentsRadiation....
Hi all, Didn't want to add this to the other post I made, as it is a totally different subject... so I am sorry if I should of lol...anyway next Friday the 5th I have my first appointment with the Radiation Onco, to discuss radiation therapy, am i able to get some others views please, as I dont understand why I would really need to have Radiation after having the Chemo, I understood the Chemo bit, so if any molecule of cancer broke off in the op the Chemo would kill it before it could adhere and start to grow... but as for the radiation I can not fathom, as I had a couple of nodes taken out when i had my Mastectomy, was called back saying that there was cancer there, so had to have another operation to remove more nodes, but it was only the first lot that they took out that was infected apparently only the gate keeper, but was almost the same size as the actual breast tumour itself, so was told that 1 out of 11 was cancerous, pretty good odds i think lol....anyway my thought with radiation is it is in a localised spot, i have no nodes left, and wouldn't the Chemo kill what was already floating around in my body... is there a point to Radiation or not...Any advice give much appreciated and will not be taken as gospel...just want to hear others stories etc.... Thanks in advance.... :) <3 Cheers Wendy xoxox48Views0likes0CommentsRe: Starting Paclitaxel...
Apparently only have to take the steroid (Dexamethasone) for the first two weeks, 8mg the first week, and 4mg the second, then none, so hopefully once i stop i can lose the weight that i have put on, as I am not a small person to start with and this weight I think is worse then the chemo...they keep telling me to lose weight, better for me, etc etc, but how the hell am i suppose to do that when they are pumping me full of steroids....at least they help with the lethargy.... @Blossom1961 tell you one thing, ill be doing more then just a little dance if i can lose this weight and a bit more before the end of Chemo lol....5Views0likes0CommentsRe: Starting Paclitaxel...
Thank you all so much for the feed back... i know one thing I am looking forward to it not having to take the Steroid anymore, I have put on just over a kg each 3 weeks, so am hoping now by the end of the 12 weeks I will of lost it all again, and maybe even more lol...14Views0likes0CommentsStarting Paclitaxel...
Hi Everyone, Well I have now completed the first 4 rounds of Chemo, in two weeks time I start the 12 rounds of weekly, (Paclitaxel) and I am shit scared as I have only come to terms with the side effects of the first lot, is anyone able to shed some light on this round of chemo...so far the only thing that really gets to me is feeling lethargic, hate not having any energy to even go to the loo... Only really good thing is to me it means only 12 more weeks of treatment.....fingers crossed anyway.... <3 :) Thanks Cheers Wendy308Views0likes16CommentsRe: What food do you eat?
I found that I have to be careful of acidic stuff, like tomatoes, oranges etc etc, even though I am loving having a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich on fresh white bread lol... I just eat what i want, when i want, and how much of it I want...I can't handle coffee for the first week after treatment ( no idea what im going to do after next round, as i then go onto weekly lol), so have turned to chocolate milk, which i never really liked before lol... I have also found it best to stay away from crunchy stuff, like toast crust and hard biscuits like cruskits.7Views0likes0CommentsRe: Sore Head...
