Re: Side effects of taxol
I have had no 2 of cycle 2 of taxol and yes was told it would be easier on my body than AC....NO it just different, so that ever present neuropathy effecting feet, hands, mouth. Weekness in legs, can't do much exercising, breathlessness requiring oxygen therapy, then the meds take one to alleviate this and the another to combat that and so on...its a chore thats for sure.39Views

Re: Waiting for tests and results
Hi, the waiting for results etc seems to take forever..i found keeping every bit of info helpful, writing things down, asking questions and better still take someone with you for support and questions you dont ask...another pair of ears if you forget something that was said. It certainly is a journey, we are on this treadmill that we can't get off.....take care, once you get a treatment plan you'll go from there and know whats going on.64Views

Re: Tethering means breast cancer too
I had a small sausage shaped lump towards my underarm on the left breast when i was 38, went to a surgeon and he made me strip off and he checked me over umming and ahhing just to tell me that it was fatty tissue, now, we are guided by doctors etc and i thought okay. Fast forward another two years, i have a hole forming in my skin where the lump was and yep on my 40th birthday in 2000 got the diagnosis that it was stage 3 DCIS....mastectomy, radiation and 5 years of tamoxifen. That was 17 years ago. I have since had a recurrance from 2015 with mets in spine, liver and possibly left lung. I have never worried how i look so have been happy with a prosthetic. I didn't want to have more operations.221Views

Re: Not good results
Thanks girls, i feel comforted in that we are all on this metastatc journey together and everyone is at a different stage or been there done that. (although it sucks to be on this journey Primek, i hope you right about taxol that it will be easier. I know everyone handles chemo differently....i could cope better if i could just get rid of the breathlessness...i just want to start feeling well again.20Views

Not good results
After havig a CT scan my oncologist rang me the next day to tell me that the chemo wasnt working ( have had four rounds of Adriamycin, was working, now not) onco told me that the cancer is active, i have breathing issues, very tight in chest and just breathless all the time. Am to have bloods tomorrow and then start on taxol for however many weeks. I feel like I'm on my last legs. I'm hoping its just the chemo taking its toll, am down to 53kgs as it is a real effort to eat....hubby is doing everything in the house and doesn't seem to mind. I'm concerned about taxol and whether I'm strong enough to handle it. Yes I know most of you ladies out there will say discuss with onco and i will ..... i am physically weak and can barely shower myself let alone do anything else. Anyone got some moral boosting opinions? Or am I putting the cart before the horse112Views
