Painful Boob
Hello everyone :) I love having these forums, they're just such a help to know that others are like me! Anyway, I'm slightly concerned about my poor old boob! :o I've had surgery on y left breast on 15th & 27th March this year. Then I had radiation therapy from 1st - 24th May. Luckily I didn't have much in the way of side effects - a lovely slightly pink boob and fatigue. Had a few bad days during radiation and made some friends. The staff at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane are incredible people who helped me through so much. Still got the fatigue and a pink boob...my male friend was hoping that i'd glow in the dark, lol! Soon showed him o:) Anyway, the main purpose of this discussion is to find out if anyone else has a very painful boob. After I had surgery the pain for the lumpectomy and for the node removal gradually improved until there was no pain, well except for a little where the node was removed. However, now my poor boob is quite painful, and even hurts when I use the softest bra I can find. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a normal thing, maybe after radiation therapy? Thank you so much everyone for your enlightening comments. I have my bone density scan on the 12th June, then see my specialist on 19th June. I am 62 years old and am post-menopausal. I already have many aches and pains that cause me problems with walking and other problems. There are times I cry with pain. Has anyone been to pain management? Hello all I finished my radiation therapy without too many problems. I'm booked in to have a bone density scan on the 12th and will see my specialist on the 19th as she intends to put me on oestrogen inhibitors.. Has any one had any bad side effects or any information that may help me. I'm not 100% sure if I want to take these - are they worth the side effects that can/may happen? Hello my supportive and beautiful friends <3 - Mollygirl, Romla, SoldierCrab, primek, socoda, Crusty, arpie, Sister, adean, Brenda5 and onemargie, I've been hiding away and coming to terms with my diagnosis. I haven't meant to ignore anyone and re-reading all these lovely comments has helped me open up again. I saw my surgeon / oncologist on 6th March and after lots of help from a friend, sort of understand the information I was given. Luckily he's concentrating on the surgery information first. Even the dr said there is so much to hear and it will be better to do it one step at a time. So...I'm having a lumpectomy on the 15th March. Also am having pre-admission on Monday which will take about 5 hours. Think I'll take a good book! Also, so much that needs to be done before the operation on op day. Putting in a wire, dye and I can't remember what else. I'm starting to feel scared. I tell myself that it's just another operation, but it's not getting through. Am feeling tired and sleeping a lot, but my daughter thinks that this is because of appointments and information catching up with me. Jules xxxxx6Views0likes0Comments
