Hi all,

This is Annie from BCNA’s Policy Team. I hope you had a lovely and restful Christmas and New Year season.

This is a quick note to let you know that the subsidy amounts for the Patient Assisted Travel and Accommodation Schemes (PATS) in the ACT and NSW have increased slightly.

For those who aren’t familiar with PATS, it is a scheme that provides people in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia with financial assistance towards the costs of travelling to, and staying near, specialist medical services for treatment.

The scheme is run by each state and territory, so financial assistance differs according to where you live.

BCNA has a fact sheet with contains a summary of the subsidies that are available in each state and territory. For a copy of the fact sheet, please click here. You can also call us on (free call) 1800 500 258 and we will send you a free copy in the mail.

Thanks
Annie
