So nice to be out of the house today and back to work. I work as a Vet Nurse so hanging out with all the little furry ones and getting kisses from cute puppies was very therapeutic. I have been sick of the sight of my house so will enjoy the good times as much as I can!

I was thinking of you today. Glad you had a good one.  Today was the first day I felt back to my old self. Normal day, no naps, housework  and out in the garden . It's still dry down here so we spent an hour or so watering. Hopefully it will be the last we have to do until summer. My garden has taken a bit of a backseat since diagnosis. Hopefully I can immerse myself in it again.
Do you have any pets at home @Kiwi Angel ?

@Finch. Really enjoyed being back - nice to take my mind off stuff and I work with a great group of people. Glad u are feeling better - I have been lucky enough to feel better since Tuesday which has been so nice. I understand what people mean now about the good days being more special. It has been warm in Sydney too - crazy weather!!  If u r a keen gardener I understand it can be quite therapeutic. We live in an apartment and so I just have my little pots of flowers, herbs and veggies but would love a proper veggie garden. We have had a bit of a bad year in our house. On top of everything going in with me we had to put our old cat to sleep a couple of weeks ago - she had cancer too. We have my cat Kiwi who I refer to as my fur nurse as she clings to my side when I am recovering for surgery or unwell. Do u have pets finch?  All prepped for the next round - for some stronger pain relief and the joint aches and some sleeping tablets so will see how that goes. Take care and keep in touch - Steph xo.

We had our beloved cat put to sleep in November 2016. She was about 16 and was the best. I had the vet come to our house and we buried her in the garden the next morning. We are still getting over that cat, stupid isn't it.
We haven't any pets now as we travel quite a bit, but our daughter has a dog which I love to the moon and back and call her my grand-doggie. I'm firstly a bird lover so we won't get another cat. We live out of the city on acreage and the bird life here is amazing, so tame and unafraid of us humans.  We feed them so they are our pets these days.
i had more than the usual amount of hair in my brush this morning. Oh dear, looks like the shedding has started. I asked the nurse during my infusion about the cold cap and she hadn't heard of it, which I thought was a bit strange.  I remember a friend trying it out in 2001 when she had chemo, you'd think the nurse would have at least heard of it.
I had already discounted it for me anyway as I have a very low pain threshold for cold. I had my surgery private and going public for the rest of treatment so it mustn't be offered under public.
    xx

By the way I love the expression on Kiwi. What a cutie! Staring at you to get up and feed her from the looks. How old is she?

@Finch. I think pets are amazing - especially in situations like this - what they do for your mental health is amazing. Kiwi is 6 - she’s an Abbysinian x that came in to work as a kitten and I just fell in love with her. That is her in your face nursing technique- just making sure I am ok. No personal space!!  The dreaded shedding - I’m sorry. Mine seems to be hanging in so far - I think if it’s going to start going it will be soon. I haven’t noticed any scalp itchiness which can be a precursor and I am being so gentle with it so I’m hoping. My armpit, leg and bikini area hair is free to go though. Ice tea believe the nurse hadn’t heard of the cold cap though!!! I have noticed abit of swelling near my wrist on the side I had lymph node removal though so worried there could be abit of lymphodema swelling - going to see my specialist tomorrow though so will take care of that. Your acerage sounds amazing. Would love a property but anything we can afford is miles away from work. Renting for us for the foreseeable future. Nice to be back to work and I have been feeling normal so I’ll be sure to enjoy it while it lasts. Hope your sore throat is feeling better!!  Xoxo Steph
