How long til side effects disappear after AC

I couldn't do the top eyeliner thing...believe me I tried but it looked like a 2 year old drew on me...being older with looser eye skin did not assist...lol. but I wore eye makeup and lower lid line and it looked okay. The last of my lashes fell out 3 weeks after taxol finished. I had professional eyebrow makeup  tattooing done whilst still had some eyebrows as I was useless at this also,  and just as well as the regrowth of those remains sparse. 

I did look a bit weird for a while bald and no eye lashes but with eyebrows but was quick to whip my hat and makeup on in the morning. 

People that knew me didn't believe my eyebrows were tattooed. 1st oic is duribg chemo and second is how my brows look now with some regrowth. (And weight loss lol)

So happy for you finishing AC.. I found that hard.. It took me until I had my third round of Taxol to start feeling better! I had no problem with nails. I have had 6 Taxol and 6 to go.
i had diarrhoea for the first 5 weeks but that seems to have settled.. hair hasn't started growing back.. lost eye brows & lashes in the first week of Taxol but the hair doesn't matter in the scheme of things!

You are through the worst part...well done! I lost all my lashes and brows during AC and 1 month post taxol I have 1 faint eyebrow but nothing on the other side....no lashes yet either LOL!
My head hair started to grow back on taxol though and I am now able to not cover my head. It's very grey but at least it's hair!
@melclarity tip about the eyeliner works a treat and helps you to look less alien like... I use it every day to help me look more human.

I might pop a new discussion and let everyone know how things have super improved! I agree OMG we all need a little bit of hope and positive things to share to keep us all going! Ohhhh I love my makeup too, and agree it makes me feel happy in myself. x 

Kat! Exactly you have finished the first lot! and its the toughest! So big relief. Ohhh I hear you, I got used to the baldness too. It wasnt til I was going through Taxol that I lost my eyelashes and eyebrows, that I found really confronting! But I learnt a little trick as I love my makeup!! If you put a line on the top lid of liquid eye liner you actually cant tell that you dont have eyelashes!! Who would have thought!!! it helped me feel better about my appearance at that point. You are doing an amazing job! So rest up before Taxol and another one started and closer to the end of that. Thanks Kat, Im actually doing incredibly well, who would have thought whoa!!!! so odd not quite 2 weeks but have bounced back leaps and bounds yay! Thanks Mel, I guess it's all a bit of an unknown for us. I'm just glad I've finished the 1st leg of treatment. Getting used to my baldness now anyway and thankfully so far my eyelashes and brows have only thinned minimally. I had a little nausea for the 1st time after this round but think it was because I didn't eat until afterwards, hasn't been an issue before. I hope that you are feeling much better today Mel x

Kat hey! My hair did not grow back on Taxol either, i did Fec x 4 before that. I saw the odd  person but it was random fuzz not hair as it grows once treatment is finished. Same with your nails, nothing improves until you are finished taxol. I had a rash on my hands, slight neuropathy not really in fingers but my feet. Nails were just brittle not discoloured sp kept breaking chipping.  Hope it helps im 15 months post chemo and really feeling better everyday. Melinda xo

My hair started growing back on taxol but my friend has only really got some real hair 7 weeks on (she had a tiny bit of fuzz prior this ...but hardly real hair). Taxol can cause nail darkening too so it will be a while. Fingernails full regrowth about 3 months and toenails 6 monthsnin normal circumstances. 

Thanks girls, I really appreciate your insights. I have been reading up on taxol and what I may experience, mainly on this forum. I do understand however that we are all different and that the treatments affect us all in different ways. My chemo is being used to shrink my tumour and so far I'm glad to say there has been noticeable improvement and I"m hoping that this last dose of AC continues that improvement. I have surgery in whatever shape after my taxol treatment is finished all going to plan, then radiation and hormone therapy. No doubt I'll be asking you all for your help and advice along the way and hopefully be able to help some of you as well.
