Radiation and sore breast like mastitis

Ive had 8 radiation treatments (lumpectomy) and my breast is very sore. When my nipple goes hard, it feels like mastitis. I have the mepitel film on so it feels quite snug anyway however im sure my breast has swollen and unsure if because the mepitel is on it is making it feel ever tighter.
Just wondering if this is normal and what other ladies experiences are.

    Check with your radiation  Oncologist. I did develop mastitis after 9 sessions on radiotherapy, so it can happen. Also keep an eye on your temperature between now and when you go for treatment tomorrow.

    Hello, I finished Radiothreapy last April 2016, following a lumpectomy and chemo to my right breast. Both my breast have been sore since.  My friend who gives me monthly massages (now all treatment is over) told me to gently massage both breasts and extend the massage to under the arm. Finally yesterday after all this time my breasts didn't feel as sore. I did check with the specialists and GP if the soreness was normal and they all said it was! Hope this helps you.

    Hi Chabrittson, Chat to your radiation oncologist. They will make sure everything is as expected. My breast progressively became harder as the weeks went by. I'm now almost one year since finishing radiation and my radiated breast is still lumpy/ hard and feels like premenstrual sore breasts to touch. Keep getting told it's very normal
