Hello everyone,

You may have seen our news item about the 2015 Federal Budget, but in case you haven’t, you can find our response to the Federal Budget in the News section of the website.

Our response provides details about a range of announcements and initiatives, including the Government’s announcements that:

  • Both Kadcyla and Perjeta, new drugs for the treatment of HER2-positive secondary breast cancer, will be listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) from 1 July 2015.
  • Superannuation laws will be amended to make it easier for Australians living with a terminal illness to access their superannuation earlier than they have previously been able to.
  • Targeted intraoperative radiotherapy, a new type of radiotherapy for early breast cancer, will be added to the Medicare Benefits Schedule from 1 July 2015.

You can read our full response to the Budget and discussion of how the changes will affect Australians diagnosed with breast cancer here.

Warm regards,
Lisa
